The unidentified Englishman writes of his travels in Austria, mainly in Vienna, but also visits Pressburg [now Bratislava] and Linz. He encounters and dines with men and women from several countries and mentions meeting minister plenipotentiary at Vienna Lord [Gilbert Elliot] Minto, the Jewish banker Baron Kanstein, Madame d'Eichelburg, Lord Talbot, British envoy Arthur Paget, Count Dambert, and Mr. D'Arnstein. He comments on the surroundings and the number of coffee houses in Pressburg, and describes the park in Vienna.
